Episode 10 recap

Nippy is the name of the preceding Better Call Saul season six episode. The story takes place in Omaha in 2010, where Jimmy befriends Jeff’s mother Marion after she identified him as Saul Goodman while posing as Gene Takavic, the cab driver. Jeff is confronted by Gene, who offers to let him play “the game.” Then, at the mall where Gene works, he instructs Jeff and a friend on how to rob a department shop.

He does his part by becoming friends with and chatting up the mall security officers while Jeff steals pricey items within a set amount of time. However, Gene buys Jeff some extra time to recover by pretending to be having an emotional breakdown in order to divert the head of security when Jeff trips and smacks his head on the slick floor.

Gene urges Jeff and his friend to keep away from him, threatening to turn them in to the authorities even if it meant getting caught himself. The three manage to escape with thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen goods. Gene regretfully searches the department shop for a dress shirt in the style of Saul Goodman but decides against buying it because he is pleased with the con’s success.

Michelle MacLaren, who also served as the episode’s writer, helmed the project.
