Ayman Al-Zawahiri Wife: Who Is Umaima Hassan?
Aside from this, not much is known about Umaima Hassan, the wife of Ayman Al-Zawahiri. For Ayman al-Zawahiri, at least four marriages took place. Umaima Hassan and Azza Ahmed Nowari are two of his spouses.
Azza Ahmed Nowari, a philosophy major at Cairo University, wed Al-Zawahiri in 1978. They had a very formal wedding at the Continental Hotel on Opera Square, without any music, pictures, or other fun features.
Al-Zawahiri is alleged to have spent the previous ten years as a jihadi emir (commander). But until many years later, when the United States invaded Afghanistan in the wake of the September 11, 2001 attacks, Azza was unaware of this.
In a message posted online in June 2012, Umaima Hassan, one of Zawahiri’s four wives, congratulated Muslim women for participating in the Arab Spring.
Ayman Al-Zawahiri Children: How Many Do They Have Together?
Five children were born to al-Zawahiri and his wife Azza: Mohammed, Khadiga’s twin, Fatima (1981), Umayma (1983), Nabila (1986), and Khadiga (1987), who was dubbed “the favourite of his elder sisters” and “a sensitive, well-mannered youngster.”
Azza gave birth to their daughter Aisha, who has Down syndrome, ten years after Mohammed was born. Abu Zubaydah revealed that Abu Turab Al-Urduni had married a daughter of al-Zawahiri after being waterboarded in February 2004.
One of Al-three Zawahiri’s surviving wives gave birth to a daughter named Nawwar in the first part of 2005.
Azza, Ayman al-First Zawahiri’s wife and two of their six children, Mohammad and Aisha, were murdered in a US airstrike on Afghanistan in late December 2001 after the September 11 attacks on the United States.
Azza was trapped in the debris of a guesthouse roof after an American jet attack on a Taliban-controlled building in Gardez. But since she was worried that “guys would see her face,” she “refused to be dug,” and the following day, she died from her wounds.
In the same house, her son Mohammad was also brutally murdered. On a wonderful night, while Afghan volunteers battled to revive Azza, her four-year-old Down syndrome daughter Aisha passed away from exposure.
About Ayman Al-Zawahiri Parents
In the Giza neighbourhood of Cairo, Egypt, in 1951, Mohammed Rabie al-Zawahiri and Umayma Azzam welcomed Ayman al-Zawahiri into the world.
Al-Zawahiri, according to the New York Times, is from “an affluent and illustrious family that affords him a solid grounding in both religion and politics.”
The family originated from the Harbi tribe in the little hamlet of Zawahiri in the Badr region of Saudi Arabia.
Al-parents Zawahiri came from affluent parents. Al-father, Zawahiri’s Mohammed Rabie al-Zawahiri, was born in Kafr Ash Sheikh Dhawahri, Sharqia Governorate, into a large family of doctors and academics, one of whose grandfathers was Sheikh Muhammad al-Ahmadi al-Zawahiri, the 34th Grand Imam of al-Azhar.
Umayma Azzam, Zawahiri’s mother and Ayman Al-mother, came from wealthy, politically active families. She was the daughter of Abdel-Wahhab Azzam, a literary expert who served as ambassador to Pakistan, the first president of King Saud University, and president of Cairo University.
Azzam Pasha, his brother, was the initial Secretary-General of the Arab League (1945–1952).
