The son of Major 1 and Limpopo pastor Apostle Walter is accused of stealing and robbing guns. The pastor was given a five-year prison term.

The pastor might provide advice to churchgoers. A pastor is highly respected in the religious world. However, a preacher by the name of Walter Mashalane was recently apprehended and given a five-year prison term for illegally possessing firearms and ammunition.

During the arrest, the authorities thoroughly searched the home and found one weapon with ammo hidden beneath a ceiling. The second weapon was never discovered.

On the same day (Friday), the accused was ultimately granted free bail with a warning till the start of his five-year prison term. He was also found to be unfit to carry a firearm.

The Limpopo police commander, Hadebe, stated that Mashalane’s sentencing should serve as a message to other clergymen in the area.

A police spokesman in Limpopo, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, reported that Mashalane was sentenced on Friday. The trial court said that the preacher had spoken with one of his disciples. He requested that she give him two guns that belonged to her husband so that he could pray for them because, according to him, he had a bad dream about them in 2019.

The woman complied and handed Mashalane the two weapons without telling the rightful owner. Later, her husband got in touch with Mashalane and told him to give back the guns. The preacher allegedly declined, according to police.

A theft case was filed, and Sergeant Mashitisho was given the case. On September 10, 2019, the provincial tracking team members helped apprehend the pastor in the area of Mokhuromela village.
