Kangana Ranaut was born on March 2-3, 1987, in Bhambla at a very small city in the Mandi area of Himachal Pradesh, in a Rajput family. Kangana’s mom, Asha Ranaut, was a schoolteacher, and her father, Amardeep Ranaut, is a business man. She’s has a younger sibling, Akshat ranaut. She also has an elder sister, Rangoli who works on many different social topics, like women rights in India. Being an activist and an acid attack survivor, Rangoli has been a part of controversies due for her comments on societal terms specially about Bollywood.

Kangana’s Great-grandfather, Sarju Singh Ranaut, was a member of the Legislative Assembly and her grandfather was an officer in the Indian Administrative Service. Kangana grew up in a joint family in their ancestral haveli at Bhambla. Her youth was “simple and joyful”. But at a very young age, she ran away from her house in Bhambla and went to Mumbai to follow her passion to become an actress.

EARLY LIFE

Kangana ranaut studied at DAV School in Chandigarh, afterwards she went on to a college in Shimla where she chose science as her primary subject. Her family insisted her to become a doctor hence Kangana prepared for the All India Pre-Medical Test. But after she failed in her chemistry exam in college, she changed her career options and decided to go to Delhi for a year. Despite her father’s disapproval, she was firm on her decision, which strained her relationship with her dad.

After relocating to Delhi, Kangana chased her modelling career from the Elite Modelling Agency, but soon she got bored of it as it lacked any scope of creative freedom. After this she joined the Asmita Theatre Group, where she had got the chance to train under well-renowned theatre director Arvind Gaur. She gained a very clear view on life and realized that she needed to be a Bollywood celebrity, after which she moved to Mumbai, again, opposing to the will of her loved ones. She had been first seen on the large screen in Anurag Basu’s 2006 release Gangster along with Emraan Hashmi and Shiney Ahuja. She only reunited with her family at the year 2007.

PERSONAL LIFE

In her initial days, Kangana was in a relationship with Aditya Pancholi, who was a married man with children and also twenty-five years elder to her. They were living together before they chose to part ways. Right after breaking up with him, Kangana found in love in her Raaz costar Adhyayan SuMan . Both dated for a year after which both of them chose to focus on their individual careers.

After dating two man from the same industries, Kangana later was in the headlines for her connection with UK based doctor and scientist, Nicholas Lafferty. Later, both chose to call it quits for reasons best known to them, but it is believed that long distance was the main reason for her breakup. Back in 2016, Kangana managed to grab the headlines with her alleged romance with all co-star and Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan, however, the relationship was not officially accepted by the two.

ACTING CAREER

After Kangana came to Mumbai, she was given a role in roducer Ramesh Sharma and Pahlaj Nilani’s film I Love You Boss. However, the film got shelved and Kangana was spotted in a restaurant with director Anurag Basu. Then asked her to audition for his movie, but producer Mukesh Bhatt believed that the seventeen-year-old Kangana was too young to justify the part of an alcoholic lady. He then moved on to cast Chitrangada Singh, but she had to back out thanks to date issues. Eventually, the role came back to Kangana and she won the Filmfare Award for the Best Female Debut.

After the success of Gangster, she was offered a role in Mohit Suri’s Woh Lamhe, that has been broadly based on the life span of actress Parveen Babi and her illicit relationship with director Mahesh Bhatt, where she portrayed the role of a schizophrenic actress. She was also lauded for her performance in the picture, Metro, and Tamil film Dhaam Dhoom. Kangana portrayed the role of a super model in Fashion, who is also a drug addict. Her portrayal of the character gained lots of praise and she moved onto win the National Film Award because of it.

Anand L. Rai’s Tanu Weds Manu in 2011, was a game changer for Kangana. She was playing the part of a Teen woman, distinct from her previous roles. Kangana achieved commercial success later Rakesh Roshan’s sci-fi film Krrish 3 in 2013, where she played the role of a shape shifting mutant. The picture went on to become one of Bollywood’s so called highest-grossing pictures of all time.

After this large commercial success, Kangana was found at Vikas Bahl’s Queen for that she co-wrote that the dialogues. Her operation from Queen is regarded as one of her finest due to her effortless acting and dialogue shipping. She got third-time blessed together using the National Film Award in 20-16 with Anand L. Rai’s 2015 release Tanu Weds Manu Fall, sequel into the 2011 picture, at which Kangana plays a dual function.
